BREAKING: At approximately 8:00 P.M. on Sunday night, Sept. 29, a gray car smashed into a light pole along the intersection of Ocean Gateway and Baptist Street, leaving the pole and vehicle badly damaged. The flashing lights of police vehicles were visible along the roadway near the entrance to Salisbury as bystanders looked upon the wreckage.

“I was sitting right there on the phone, and I watched him hit the f**king curb, he went airborne,” said one witness, a middle-aged man who saw the accident happen from his porch. “Sparks went everywhere.”

Those taking a look at the scene of the accident guessed that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, took their eyes off the road and other possibilities, though the full details of the wreck are not currently available.

“When they woke up, they probably hit the accelerator instead of the brakes,” speculated one bystander jokingly.

Several cops were present, asking questions to those involved and witnesses. There were no ambulances at the scene of the accident, indicating that no one was seriously injured.
