In a recent article featuring Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller, her “journey from India to the top of Maryland Politics” is framed as an example for the future of Maryland.
Although the piece is intended to be centered upon International Women’s Day, the overarching theme of the article is immigration policy. The article is a testament to the fact that DEI narratives, identity politics, and “diversity” cards are still alive and well in blue states like Maryland.
“Whether it was being an immigrant who didn’t speak a word of English, a female engineer in a male-dominated field, or an Indian-American legislator in a legislature that looked nothing like me, those experiences shaped who I am,” Miller said.
Notice how she cites the fact that the legislature looked “nothing like her” when she became a Delegate from Montgomery County in 2011. This is framed as a negative– about 60% of the delegates were white and 30% of the delegates were black during this time period, representing the two major racial demographics in the state.
For centuries, the two major racial groups in the state of Maryland have been white and black. Over the course of the past few decades, mass migration and sanctuary policies in the state have been causing this to drastically change.
According to Miller, it should change. Referring to the fact that the legislature looked “nothing like her,” she stated that, “it’s a force telling you that you have to be there – to make spaces bigger for others.”
How can that be achieved? Miller explains that the Moore administration is on it.
After boasting that the Moore administration is the “most diverse in Maryland’s history,” Miller explained that representing one of the most diverse states in the country comes with a duty to promote the interest of immigrants, specifically, illegals.
Referring to the iconic moment during the State of the Union address in which Trump asked legislators to stand if they agreed that the first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens, Miller said, “that’s very hurtful, and honestly, that’s not what America is.”
“America is the place where people from all over the world come and choose to make it their homeland.”
Imagine if an Englishman immigrated to a foreign country (say, China), benefited from opportunities, resources, and funds from the country, became a Chinese politician, and then had the audacity to not only demean the native population of the country for not being “diverse” enough, but went on to state that the Chinese government is obligated to let in illegal carpetbaggers, failing to even admit that the duty of the government is to protect it’s own people.
This would never happen, yet we allow it to happen in places like Maryland because we want to be welcoming, we want to be tolerant, we want to be compassionate, and we want to avoid being called Xenaphobic or racist or a number of other names.
The time for tolerating this disrespect at the highest levels of our state government must come to an end. The primary goal of folks like Aruna Miller is to flood the state with more foreigners so that her and her people feel more comfortable and, ultimately, have more political power.
That’s the truth. They understand that demographics are crucial, and they are betting on the fact that Republicans stay quiet on this fact. It’s time to get loud and advocate for heritage Marylanders.
