SALISBURY UNIVERSITY: THE BURY POST
The Bury Post is the independent newspaper at Salisbury University.
Noticing that the established student newspaper was both biased and inconsistent, students founded The Bury Post in May, 2024 to tell powerfully riveting stories on campus and in the Salisbury community.
Investing over a thousand dollars in personal funds into The Bury Post, the founding team was able to hire student reporters, build a following on campus, and bring back print student newspaper to Salisbury University for the first time in several years.
In our first year of operation, The Bury Post outworked and surpassed the content output & viewership of the official student newspaper, which has been on campus for over 50 years. We became a Registered Student Organization (RSO) in April, 2025.
In January, 2026, The Bury Post entered into a partnership with Maryland Maverick News in order to continue effectively reporting the issues that matter on campus; we realize that we are a part of a broader effort to fight back against the biased, unfair newspapers across state universities.
Although The Bury Post fully understands that Maryland Maverick News is a right-wing source, our team is fully committed to publishing all articles sent to us which adhere to journalistic guidelines: The Bury Post has always been a free-speech absolutist publication.
Our team is excited for the success that is bound to come in 2026.
